AN ASHRAM EXPERIENCE

Presenter:  Fr. Korko Moses S.J.

Monday 27th August to Friday 21st September 2012.
This will be a residential, silent, meditative experience. Participants may choose how many days they wish to do. i.e. 3, 6 or 8 days or come in for a day, evening etc.
Vegetarian meals.
This experience combines yoga and silent forms of meditations.  "Yoga," Fr Korko says, "is a scientific way to bring the mind to stillness and to align the body, mind and spirit correctly.  There is no worship of god or goddesses involved in it and its practice can very well support the Christian spirituality, especially the mystical theology in Christianity.

In terms of meditation" he says, "Meditation goes beyond all concepts and images to encounter God who is beyond name and form.  It raises you up, like a ladder.

The aim of retreat in general can be defined in Ignatian terms as a way to get rid of inordinate attachments and to find and do the will of God.

The ashram can accommodate inter-religious retreats where the traditions have participated without compromising of beliefs."
